Hyundai has officially launched the Creta Electric at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking a significant milestone in India's electric vehicle (EV) market. This new electric SUV combines the popular Creta's design with advanced electric technology, offering a compelling option for eco-conscious consumers.

Design and Features

The Creta Electric retains the familiar design elements of the standard Creta, featuring a sleek exterior with a closed-off grille to enhance aerodynamics. Inside, it boasts a modern cabin equipped with a dual-screen setup, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a wireless phone charger, enhancing comfort and convenience.

Battery and Performance

Hyundai offers two battery options for the Creta Electric:

  • 42 kWh Battery: Provides a driving range of approximately 390 km on a single charge.
  • 51.4 kWh Battery: Offers an extended range of about 473 km per charge.
  • Both variants support CCS2 charging standards, with the 42 kWh battery capable of charging from 10% to 100% in about 4 hours using an 11 kW AC fast charger. The 51.4 kWh battery takes approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes for a full charge under similar conditions.

Pricing and Variants

The Creta Electric is available in multiple variants, with prices starting at ₹17.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom). The top-end variant is priced at ₹19.99 lakh. Bookings are open with an initial deposit of ₹25,000.

Safety and Technology

Safety is a priority in the Creta Electric, featuring Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. The SUV also includes a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging feature, allowing it to power external devices, and a dual-zone climate control system for personalized comfort.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Creta Electric represents a significant advancement in the Indian automotive landscape, offering a blend of style, performance, and sustainability. As the EV market continues to grow, the Creta Electric is poised to be a strong contender, providing consumers with an attractive and practical electric SUV option.
